I unfortunately was not able to go to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia this year but I did happen to be so lucky to get to design Fashion Wire Press’s homepage banner for some of the amazing street style. I really enjoyed the eclectic mix of cropped leather skirts and shorts, bright colors, beautiful patchwork patterns, and laid back comfortable sophistication. I can’t wait for the warm weather to come to New York so I can dust off my my chunky sandals and let my skin see the light of day once again! Spring in Central Park
Dreaming of living in New York City when I grew up was filled with RomCom montages and picturesque walks in Central Park, much like the one I took the other day. I however, was not envisioning the east coast weather or the fact that my walk in the park was going to be solo.
In this city I am constantly surrounded by people. Brushing a strangers shoulder on the street or laying in my bedroom overhearing my neighbors sexual exploits through my paper thin walls. People start to become white noise, they are objects without a face that blur past me as I go on with my day. It’s easy to get pulled into the tide of people that consume this city. To either feel so small or to be inspired by others opinions and get caught up in their way of life. Losing your way is very simple when you have so many avenues, streets and alleys to turn down. Sometimes it’s easier to slip into a already established routine and a “go with the flow” mentality. So, I am now realizing that my brief encounters with just my self are essential to who I am as a New Yorker. It’s a reminder to come up for air every once and a while in this great and inspiring city.
Romance Was Born
My favorite look from Romance Was Born in Sydney. The show had amazing textures and a trippy dream like feel that made me think of making the image more graphic to really accentuate the patterns and the makeup. See the full collection on Fashion Wire Press.
Valentino: Magical Realism
Paris fashion week was coming to an end and when Paris nears it’s end I usually start to imagine my feather pillow, my half pint of mint chocolate chip ice cream and fantasize about what movie I am going to watch when I get home in a few days. Don’t get me wrong, I love Paris and I love all the fashion shows, but the long hours, no weekends and late nights for a month is a lot for anyone’s body to handle. But on the second to last day Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli made me widen my eyes and come back to reality. Valentino’s collection this season was nothing less than stunning. It was so serene the way the fabric flowed down the runway. I felt like a renaissance painting was coming to life right before my eyes. I turned to my boss and without even looking at me he said, “look at those girls, look at their faces… they know they are wearing something truly special.” I couldn’t have agreed with him more. Outside the tents waiting for the Issey Miyake Show to start. Paris and the Tuileries even look beautiful on a not so beautiful day. It was damp with a windy chill for most of Paris AW2013 this year. I remember one of the last days I was there, I finally saw the clouds separate and I felt like a new person. I may have some differences with Paris but the city is like that boy in your life that you just can’t help but let back in every time. You know the love affair will be worth lows.
Rick Owens AW2013
I can’t help but think that this shot by our photographer embodies the collection for Rick Owens AW2013. See the full collection at Fashion Wire Press.
Bottega Veneta AW2013
One of my favorite shows from Milan was Bottega Veneta. I loved the use of color with the classic beauty of the hair and lips. The show had a glassy green affect of thick mirrors reflecting off each other while the vivid colors came down the center of the runway, it reminded me of a Kaleidoscope. To see the full collection go to our site Fashion Wire Press.
Thierry Cohen: Villes Éteintes
I have always had a fascination with the sky and the constellations, so when I found these images by Thierry Cohen on Artsy today I couldn’t help but share. You can find a full interview with the Parisian artist and also buy some of his wonderful prints on their site.
West Village with Fashion Wire Press

A successful business meeting with Ed Kavishe for Fashion Wire Press in the West Village the other day.
Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2013
My first ever Victoria’s Secret Fashion show LIVE! Not many people get the experience and I have to consider myself extremely lucky. Until this year I didn’t realize how hard it was to get into. I had drinks the night before with one of my friends who actually works for VS as a swimsuit buyer and as we were drinking tequila and watching Obama win his second term she made me promise to remember every detail so I could tell her after the show because she couldn’t even get in.
I think there was one thing that stood out to me in particular. In this line of work you are exposed to many celebrities and an abundance of beautiful people and while I have never had one of them be rude or mean to me, I have never had a famous person direct their attention at me without me personally soliciting it in the first place. So, you can imagine my shock when I go backstage to photograph the girls getting their makeup done and Miranda Kerr directly makes eye contact with me and talks to me. They were all so friendly and down to earth, I know I am press so they of course aren’t going to be rude, but this was different. I was very impressed.
Victoria’s Secret Fashion SHow: Bruno Mars
All the performances from the VS Show were wonderful and I expect no less, but I really loved Bruno Mars band and how they liked to get down. Check out those suits and those leather shoes, they also know the dancing is all in the hips. Plus, the song he performed Locked Out of Heaven
was so amazing.
